In Order to Live
I read a book, and often I like to reflect upon whatever book it is that I am reading. I am finishing up the book In Order to Live, by Yeonmi Park.
The book which you can find on Amazon below depicts her journey from North Korea to absolute freedom.
If you click on the picture it will take you to a link where you can buy this book. I highly recommend this to everyone.
“A numbness lingered inside me, like a cold companion that watched me from a distance, unable to engage in the world.” -Yeonmi Park
This quote, taken from one of the last chapters in the book, paints a picture of what it means to see suffering first hand. This book changed my perspective on a lot of things.
for the longest time I have thought that I do not have PTSD, rather I have mefloquine toxicity. After reading this book I see that my struggle, and my suffering is nothing compared to what others endure. But through life, we find a reason to live.
